The Music Publishers Association of the United States is offering a Copyright Awareness Scholarship through MENC :The National Association for Music Education for students age thirteen through twenty-five. Three awards will be granted: a first prize of $10,000, a second prize of $3,000 and a third prize of $2,000.
The scholarship was established to award students who present a creative and compelling message relaying the importance of intellectual property and copyright law. Students interested in submitting an entry to be considered for the award will find additional information at www.menc.org/gp/contests-calls-competitions. Submissions for this year’s award must be received by May 1, 2010.
In addition, the MPA will invite winners to attend MENC's 2010 Music Education Week held in June in Washington, DC.
